A note from Jake
I started Hartwell in 2014, after twelve years working for bigger outfits around Austin. I wanted a shop where the person who answers the phone is the person who shows up.
That is still how it works. It is me, my apprentice Luis, and one truck. I would rather do fewer jobs and do them right. And if something is outside what I do, I will tell you who to call.

Texted Jake a picture of the leak under our kitchen sink at 7 in the morning. He had a price back before I left for work and fixed it that afternoon. Exactly the number he quoted.

Our water heater died on a Sunday. Jake picked up himself, walked me through shutting the water off, and had a new one in Monday morning. Hauled the old one away too.

Third plumber we called about a drain that kept backing up, and the first one who ran a camera instead of just snaking it again. Showed us the root problem on his tablet. Fixed for good.
